The Chairwoman of each Standing Committee shall be a voting member of the Board of Directors. The Chairwoman will act as a liaison to the Board and will give a written summary of the committee activities to the President before the annual meeting.
The Community Service Committee oversees projects which protect life, feed the hungry, help people in need, and provide assistance in our parish and community as needed and as approved by the Board.
The School Service Committee works with the principals and teachers of the Battle Creek Area Catholic Schools and the Religious Education Program at St. Philip Parish to coordinate services as needed and make them aware of monies available from our budget to assist them. They are responsible for reviewing the requests from the schools and presenting them to the Board to be approved. The Chairwoman updates the Board each month on what is happening in the schools.
The Christian Service Committee fosters deeper spirituality by updating members on spiritual activities (prayer services, Bible Studies, retreats, special Masses, ecumenical activities, etc.) available to them through the Battle Creek parishes and the Kalamazoo Diocese. The Chairwoman is responsible for the opening and closing prayer at all meetings. She is also responsible for arranging each year for three Masses to be offered for 1) all living members of the CCW; 2) a Requiem Mass for all members who passed away; and 3) a Requiem Mass for deceased family members of CCW members.
The Hospitality and Reception Committee prepares and acts as hostess for the CCW general meetings, purchases needed supplies, arranges a suitable program when needed, and hosts sacramental receptions and other parish receptions when needed.
The Communication Committee shall be responsible for publishing the CCW Newsletter; maintaining the CCW page on the parish website and a CCW Facebook page; contacting members by phone, text, or email when necessary and requested by the President; and any other publicity as needed.
The True Blue Committee shall keep track of the volunteer hours turned in by the CCW members throughout the year and present our organization’s gift of time to the Pastor at the Annual Meeting.
The Ways and Means Committee shall plan projects to raise money for the CCW. The Chairwoman will select the committee members who will be in charge of the fundraising projects approved by the Board. She will also be a member of the Budget Committee.
St. Elizabeth Circle – Organize, plan and execute fun activities and fund raising. St. Martha Circle – Help support charitable projects both within and outside the church. St. Monica Circle – Pray for family members and others.
